Hiring a Northeast Philadelphia Lawyer

When are big chain stores at fault for personal injury?

When it comes to personal injury, sometimes, there is a fine line between who is responsible for an accident. The same holds true for large retailers. When an accident occurs at a big chain store, it is sometimes hard to determine what happened and who is at fault. This pertains to injuries such as slip and fall in the store, products falling and injuring someone or another shopper actually causing harm to another shopper.

Sometimes, however, manufacturers can produce products that aren’t safe or the retailer themselves are negligible for not considering the welfare of the shopper. Regardless of the situation, sometimes it is important to find yourself representation with a personal injury attorney. A personal injury lawyer can represent you and be your voice to an otherwise unattainable entity that may not have your best interest in mind.

When a manufacturer creates a product that ultimately ends up not being safe for the consumer, they are liable in the event an accident occurs. Sometimes, the retailer that supplies the product can be at fault as well. In the example of the Ikea bookcase recall, Ikea was both manufacturer and retailer and were ultimately responsible for any personal injury cases and eventually recalling their products. Although they provided warnings to the nature of their product, accidents still occurred and they owned up to their responsibility to keep the consumer safe.

In the event a company violates procedures that may put its own employees at danger or causes harm to them, personal injury claims often get filed and then a combined, larger suit is filed on behalf of those employees. Such is the case of Ashley Furniture creating unsafe working conditions for its employees. They were cited and fined for their unsafe procedures. This case involved more than one person at a time and a team of personal injury attorneys was hired to protect the workers.

One thing that all of these personal injury cases had in common was that they all hired personal injury attorneys to help victims receive compensation for suffering and damages that incurred. No matter what the personal injury situation is, if you have been the victim of negligence at the hands of someone else (person or entity) you have the right to receive compensation for your pain and suffering and to recoup monies from any medical attention you may have received.
